Q: What happens to the birds once they are released?
A: Once the birds are released they have been trained to return home. So the birds will circle the area, get their bearings and head for home. This is the reason Homing Pigeons should be used for releases instead of other breeds or pet store doves.
Q: Can we hold the birds and release them that way?
A: We Can arrange for you to hold and hand release the birds if you like. It will take an extra moment but we can show you how to hold them properly.
Q: Why do you have such small service areas when the birds are capable of much greater distances?
A: The service area is actually smaller than what the birds are capable of simply due to the typical timing of the weddings. We have to allow the birds enough time to return to their home before dark. This is done for the safety of our birds. This is very important to us!
Q: How far can the birds find their way back home from?
A: These birds are capable of returning home from hundreds of miles away. However, for the birds to do this it takes conditioning much as it would any athelete. Also, keep in mind that it takes many hours for them to fly several hundred miles. Therefore, we limit them to shorter distance because of the time the release takes place.
Q: What are the chances the bird will have an "accident" on us or one of the guests?
A: There are never any guarantees that an "accident" won't happen. But rest assured that all precautions are taken to prevent this.
